Texas State Board (TSBDE) Extends State Dental License for an additional 3 Months due to COVID-19

Updated: Oct 21, 2020

April 6, 2020

TSBDE Comment on Texas Licensure Requirements,

"The TSBDE understands that during this unprecedented time dealing with the rapidly changing situation there is much uncertainty with trying to remain compliant with licensure requirements.

Therefore, in an effort to assist licensees with meeting license renewal requirements the agency will be extending license expiration dates by three (3) months for those dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants due for renewal in March, April and May of 2020.  For example, licensees due to renew by March 31, 2020 the expiration date has now been extended to 06/30/2020.

By extending the expiration dates of these licenses and registrations, this will allow licensees additional time to ensure they are complaint with meeting the following renewal requirements:

  • Continuing Education hours

  • Basic Life Support certification

  • Jurisprudence Assessment

Please understand that at this time, this is the only change and or update to the licensing process. For the most update to information regarding the agency’s response to COVID-19 click here; http://tsbde.texas.gov/covid-19-update-for-dental-healthcare-practitioners/
